Public consultation on proposed regulatory changes to CBD program
The CBD review included proposed changes to the regulatory framework of the program. A Regulation Impact Statement on the proposed changes has been prepared. The Minister for Resources, Energy and Northern Australia the Hon. Josh Frydenberg MP has agreed to public consultation on the proposed regulatory changes which include:
- Lowering the threshold for mandatory disclosure of energy efficiency information on buildings from 2000 square metres to 1000 square metres to capture smaller office buildings; and
- Extending the certification validity period for the energy efficiency office lighting assessment, known as a tenancy lighting assessment (TLA), from one to five years.
The Department has consulted stakeholders through a public consultation process which closed on the 12th March 2016.
