A CBD Accredited Assessor has accreditation under the Building Energy Efficiency Disclosure Act 2010 (the BEED Act). Accreditation is valid for 3 years as long as:
- you keep your National Australian Built Energy Rating System (NABERS) accreditation up to date in the CBD Assessor Portal
- you keep your insurances up to date in the CBD Assessor Portal
- your accreditation hasn’t been suspended or revoked.
Only CBD Accredited Assessors can:
- apply for Building Energy Efficiency Certificates (BEECs) on behalf of building owners or lessors
- conduct Tenancy Lighting Assessments (TLAs) on behalf of building owners or lessors
- apply for exemption applications on behalf of building owners.
Accreditation process
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the department) and NABERS manage the accreditation process together.
